Bureaucracy
I got a newsletter for the boys’ supervising teacher yesterday. In it we were told that by some extremely intelligent law, we are not allowed to use the boys’ real names in our emails back and forth. Therefore, they will be known as Je and Jo. Don’t you just love how your tax dollars are being spent?

Emails are like postcards. When they get sent from the school to you (and vice versa) they get passed along by lots of different computers. Anyone can read the email just like anyone that comes in contact with a postcard can read that message.
A lot of people don't realize how public emails are, so I can kind of understand that law. Where I work we never put sensitive information in emails, even when they stay inside the office.
